India has always been home to High academic expectations wherein a degree qualification often leads to respect in society. The classier the scope of education, the better recognized amongst peers and family has often been the case in the country. However, rocketing requirements to be even considered for such degrees is raising concern in a society where rejection can result in grievous results.
Every generation should seek to greater heights than the previous one. The higher secondary boards which operate in India seem to have taken this literally, as every year the scores of students seem to be skyrocketing, with some of them hitting the sky. That so many students score a full 100 per cent in several or even all their subjects could indicate that finally we are dealing with an army of geniuses.
In another 20 years or so, we can perhaps expect that all the Nobel Prize Winners will be Indians.
Of late, there is a growing tendency, both in the media, Parents and their children, to take a swipe at the entire system of education. The latest disagreement resulted because one college declared 100 % as cut-off and some students who got 90 % and above in their Class XII examination are finding it difficult to get a college of their choice.
So why this all is happening, one of the main reason is corporate world and even PSUs where for preliminary selection you need 90% marks (not applicable to SC/ST they can attain Government jobs at 40% marks, and our constitution talks about equal right, what a joke!) or you need to have 80% consistently from the 10th standard onward, so for getting a job good in a so called big name company with a nice package requires marks in the range of 100%
So as rightly said by Amir Khan in the movie 3idiots Don't Run Behind Success, Run Towards Excellence.....Let Success Follow You
